Template Presets
The presets have been inspired by the Zaner-Bloser sizing.
- Grade K: 3/4" line height for kindergarten
- Grade 1: 5/8" line height for beginning writers
- Grade 2: 1/2" line height for developing writers
- Grade 3: 3/8" line height for advanced writers
- Grade 4: 3/8" line height for advanced writers without a separate colour for the baseline
- Grade 5: 11/32" line height for regular writing without a midline or gap between lines
- Custom: Create your own line measurements
Whether using a custom or preset option you can choose how many lines you want on the page and what colour the Topline, Midline and Baseline should be.
Custom Options
- A: Line Height: Distance between baseline and top line
- B: Line Gap: Space between line sets
- C: Include Baseline: enable distinct colour for the bottom line
- D: Include Midline: show or hide the dotted line for lowercase letter height
- Lightly colored background: adds a light grey background to help distinguish lines from gaps between the lines
- Colors: Customize line colors for visibility
Page Options
- Number of Lines: the count of lines to show on the page. The maximum count updates when you change the template preset or trim size; if you switch to a smaller page or larger lines, the number is adjusted so it stays valid.
- Trim Size: Page size. Default is A4 portrait. Options include US letter (8.5×11 in, 11×8.5 in), A4 and A4 landscape, 8.5×8.5 in, 6×9 in, 8.25×6 in and 5.25×8 in.
- Page Alignment: Place the lines at the Top or Bottom of the page.
Tips
- Start with larger lines for younger children
- Use midlines to help with letter formation
- Choose high-contrast colors for better visibility
Printing
- The 'Print' button will open a preview page and the browser print dialogue
